Becoming a Family Coaching
Prepare emotionally to become a parent, and build your first bearings as a family.
The arrival of a baby is a profound transformation, and it goes well beyond day-to-day logistics: it also questions our identity, our bearings, our expectations and the way we build a new family life.
For expat parents-to-be, this transition can be even more intense: far from their loved ones, their habits and their support network, it can be hard to picture this new role calmly.
Becoming a Family Coaching supports you in taking the time to reflect on this new stage, put words to your questions and move forward with more confidence.
Some people feel doubts, worries, or find it hard to imagine their future life with a baby.
This coaching offers a space to:
- Explore what parenthood means to you
- Bring your expectations, your needs and your fears into the light
- Better understand the place you want to take as a parent
- Identify your personal resources to build confidence
- Think through your family organisation after your baby’s arrival
Support designed for both parents
Becoming a parent is not lived the same way by everyone.
Some mothers-to-be feel the change very early, through their pregnancy, while some fathers-to-be or co-parents may need more time to picture themselves in this new identity.
Becoming a Family Coaching is open to all parents-to-be, and can be particularly valuable for co-parents who want to:
- Better understand their future role
- Voice their questions or their apprehensions
- Find their place alongside their partner and their baby
- Prepare practically and emotionally for this new stage
Support to build a parenting team
The arrival of a child also transforms the couple.
Even before the birth, taking the time to talk about your expectations, your needs and your vision of parenthood lays solid foundations to move forward together.
Coaching as a couple makes it possible to:
- Think about how you want to work as a team
- Better understand each other’s needs
- Open a dialogue around the changes ahead
- Anticipate the adjustments that come with your baby’s arrival
- Build a shared framework for this new family life
A space to prepare together to become parents, while protecting your bond as a couple.
One important note
Becoming a Family Coaching is a space for reflection, preparation and personal development around the transition to parenthood.
It does not replace psychological or therapeutic support. If certain issues call for specific care, a referral to a suitable professional can be offered.
