Becoming a parent and finding your footing with your baby

Your baby is here: how do you gain confidence in your new role as a parent?

The first months with a newborn are an intense period of discovery, adjustment and major change.

Between recovering from the birth, your baby’s needs, feeding, breastfeeding, lack of sleep and the new responsibilities of daily life, moments of doubt and questioning are perfectly normal.

For expat families, this period can be more particular still: you have to find your bearings in a new country, sometimes far from your family and your support network.

BECOME is designed to support parents through the reality of the first months with a baby: understanding your child better, gaining confidence in your own way of becoming a parent, and moving through this new stage of life with more peace of mind.

What matters most in the first months with your baby

After the birth, the questions change. It is no longer about preparing for your baby’s arrival, but about learning to live with them, understanding their needs and gradually finding your place in your new role as a parent.

The first months usually raise three big questions for new parents:

  1. Understanding your baby and finding your footing day to day

The first months with a newborn are a period of intense adjustment. Understanding your baby’s needs, reading their signals, finding a rhythm and settling into daily life are all steps that gradually build a relationship of trust with your child.

  2. Going through the challenges of the postpartum period with the right support

The postpartum period is a time of great change, both physical and emotional. Between recovering from the birth, lack of sleep, questions around feeding your baby, breastfeeding, or how you experienced the birth itself, being supported, heard and accompanied is essential.

  3. Becoming a parent and building your own family balance

Becoming a parent does not mean having all the answers straight away. It is a path of learning, where everyone gradually builds their own way of being a parent.

The aim is not to become a perfect parent, but a confident one — able to make their own choices, listen to their baby and find their balance in this new family life.
